An itinerary to discover open-air artistic and architectural works and more: murals bearing the signature of leading figures in street art, buildings by famous architects, museums with works of great artistic importance... all in your immediate vicinity, in a few steps from the stop or visible directly on public transport.

You don't need a specific ticket; to do the tour, all you need is a regular ticket valid for the comunità tariffale Arcobaleno (Arcobaleno regional fare network) zones in which you are travelling.

CHIESA SANTA MARIA DEGLI ANGIOLI

Villa Ciani, built at the behest of the brothers Giacomo and Filippo Ciani between 1840 and 1843, has been the site of important exhibitions of an inescapable record of local artistic history.

CANTONAL LIBRARY

The cantonal library contains about 400,000 documents and 1,300 periodicals that can be consulted or borrowed. The library is located inside a building constructed in 1941 and designed by architects Carlo and Rino Tami.

It is a mural that delves into the theme of the skull (which has always been used in art history as a reminder of man’s mortality and is now an ephemeral symbol appropriated by fashion, design and beyond).

IL TRIO SPODESTATO, ANTOINE DÉPREZ E URSULA BUCHER (2022)

Antoine Déprez and Ursula Bucher, a pair of local artists, invite the public with their work to reflect about the ambivalent perception that remains towards nature: the protagonists of the mural are three symbols of the ancient European bestiary, namely bear, wolf and raven.

PIETRO NON TORNA INDIETRO, AGOSTINO IACURCI (2012)

If you go along Via Lavizzari you can catch a glimpse of this large mural: a man on a bike (Pietro) - a clear reference to the story of the anarchist Pietro Gori, author also of the famous song Addio Lugano bella of 1895.

IRIDESCENT JELLYFISH, L7MATRIX

The work was created between September 28 and 30, 2020. Iridescent jellyfish are a source of great inspiration for L7matrix, who in his work succeeds in capturing its movement through colors, transparencies, and changes of tone in its many aspects and forms.
