An itinerary to discover two distinctive features of the territory: greenery – an inevitable element when thinking of the Lugano region thanks to its splendid urban parks and views of nature not to be missed; tradition – present and strong above all in its villages and historic centres.

You don't need a specific ticket; to do the tour, all you need is a regular ticket valid for the comunità tariffale Arcobaleno (Arcobaleno regional fare network) zones in which you are travelling.

MONTE CASLANO NATURAL PARK

Caslano, a Malcantonese village on the banks of the Ceresio, is dominated by the mountain of the same name, also known as Sassalto. The suggested walk follows the marked trail, enhanced by 15 explanatory boards.

CASLANO

The original settlement of the town is set back from the main traffic artery and skirts the lake. In addition to the inner lanes, its wide Lake Square is characteristic.

MUZZANO LAKE

Muzzano Pond (22 hectares) was purchased by Pro Natura Switzerland in 1945, and ownership was extended over the years to numerous parcels located along its banks.

In Paradiso, it is possible to venture out for a relaxing walk at the town’s scenic park from which you can admire the Lake of Lugano.

THE TASSINO PARK

Tassino Park, a wonderful corner of peace from which it is possible to reach the Enderlin Tower, which has a beautiful panoramic terrace.

PARK OF VILLA SAROLI

Not only is this park a leisure time area in the city centre, but it is also a small botanical jewel; in fact, its wide range of flora is a typical example of sub-tropical vegetation.

CIANI PARK

Just a short walk from the bustling center of Lugano is Ciani Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Switzerland.

CASSARATE RIVER MOUTH

Starting from the entrance of Ciani Park, one runs along the entire park by the lake until one reaches the mouth of the Cassarate River, where it is possible to stop for a break and admire the view of the Gulf of Lugano.

MONTE BRÈ FUNICULAR

The Monte Brè Funicular provides access to Monte Brè, which, at an elevation of 925 meters (925 feet), is considered the sunniest mountain in Switzerland and offers visitors the opportunity to relax while admiring the beautiful view of Lake Lugano.

DEVIL'S BRIDGE

The Devil's Bridge, which connects Cassarate with Castagnola, was built in 1942 and is linked to mysterious legends of the past.

THE OLIVE GROVE TRAIL

The Path winds along the countryside between Castagnola and Gandria and crosses hillsides of ancient olive trees where just recently fruiting olive trees have been reintroduced.
